CSS Class Highlighter helps you inspect CSS, highlight classes, compare styles and explore design tokens on webpages.
Page inspection
When you open the workbench, the extension reads webpage elements, class names, attributes, computed styles, CSS custom properties and accessible stylesheet rules to display inspection results. It can inspect same-origin frames and open shadow roots. Results and comparison baselines are processed in your browser. They are not sent to CodeHorizon or a developer server. Comparison baselines stay in memory and clear when the workbench closes.
Preferences and site origins
The extension saves global preferences and settings for sites you customise in Chrome Sync storage. A site setting includes its origin, such as https://example.com, and your chosen preferences. It does not keep a general browsing history. Chrome may synchronise these records across browsers signed in to your Google account, according to your Chrome settings. CodeHorizon does not receive these records. You can reset individual site settings or all extension settings from Preferences.
Copies and exports
Copy and export actions run when you request them. Selectors, CSS declarations, token data, class inventories and comparison data may be written to your clipboard or downloaded as files. These outputs may contain details from the inspected page. You choose whether to share them.
Permissions
- activeTab identifies the tab where you invoke inspection.
- storage saves global and per-site preferences using Chrome Sync.
- contextMenus provides an Inspect with CSS Class Highlighter entry point.
- scripting loads the packaged 4.1.0 workbench into the chosen tab when requested or enabled by your auto-open preference.
- HTTP, HTTPS and file host access enables the page loader, per-site auto-open and local inspection on supported pages. Chrome requires you to enable file URL access before inspecting local files.
No tracking or remote code
The extension has no analytics, advertising, account system, developer server or remote code. Google Sans fonts and all code for the 4.1.0 workbench are bundled in the extension package. It does not sell user data, use it for advertising or unrelated purposes, or use it to determine creditworthiness. CodeHorizon does not read your inspection results. Processing is limited to CSS inspection features, consistent with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and Limited Use requirements.
