01 / The problem

Why it
exists.

Most cricket quizzes are a list of multiple choice questions. You either know the answer or you do not, and a wrong answer teaches you nothing.

Nicked plays like a word puzzle for cricket fans. Every guess is a real cricketer, and every guess tells you something: the country, the role, the era. A few smart guesses and the answer clicks.

Before
  • Multiple choice quizzes you just guess at
  • A wrong answer that teaches you nothing
  • Trivia apps that want an account first
With Nicked
  • Type any cricketer you know
  • Six clues show how close you are
  • No account, two minutes a day

How do you play Nicked?

Type the name of any cricketer and pick them from the list. Your guess is compared with the mystery cricketer on country, role, batting hand, bowling style, debut year and formats played. Green is a match, yellow is close and grey rules it out. You have six tries.

Is there a new cricketer every day?

Yes. A new mystery cricketer appears at midnight your local time, and everyone playing gets the same one that day. Missed a day? Past puzzles stay playable.

Which cricketers are in it?
